Adeu, Adeu

As many of you might already know, Friday was my last day at my job.  I had been working there for 9 years as a contractor.

When I first started there, I figured it would be just like any other contract, stay around a year or so, then move on.  Who would have thought that I’d be looking back 9 years later?

It’s been a great ride, sure there were some ups and downs, a few days I dreaded coming into work, but everyone has those days. I made a lot of friends during my employment, most of which I hope to keep in touch with one way or another.

Not sure if I’d mentioned that our wedding has been postponed until November 4th of 2007.  Money issues, guest list, and new job probation have made it necessary to move the date back. We are kind of relieved about it all, mostly because the past couple of weeks have been a constant issue with the wedding.

Don’t be upset, we aren’t, we’re still getting married this year, we just won’t have the big shindig until next year.  October 13th is our planned day for the great hitching.

So, tomorrow begins a new chapter in my life. I’m both excited and nervous. To top it all off, I’m learning how to golf. I didn’t think I would enjoy it, but I’ve been playing Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2006 for the last 2 weeks, and I’m eager to get out on the course.  I’ve been practicing in our yard, nothing too major, just trying to get my swing somewhat focused.

So now you know the rest of the story.
