Ring-Ring

So, this has been a fun few days. It’s only Tuesday, and I’m so ready for the weekend it’s not even funny.

First off, I visited my parents for Father’s Day. Dad and I put some new brakes on the Blazer, mostly because it desperately needed it. It was nice seeing my parents again, as well as visiting with my family. A few of us went to the local Winery Saturday evening, which is pretty cool. I drank way too much and paid for it with an upset tummy most of Sunday. We did the customary lunch at the grandparents, which is nice, I don’t get to see much of my family.

Speaking of family, my cousin Kristie and her man Tim were so very nice enough to lend me one of their extra Xbox 360’s with a copy of Halo 3 and Gears of War. I’ve been playing Halo 3 every night, and I’ve only tackled a little bit of Gears. I’ve been waiting for Halo 3 ever since I finished 2. I’ll get to Gears pretty soon. I’m going to hit the local used games stores and find some used games for it. I gotta tell ya, Halo 3 does rock. Frustrating sometimes, but not so much. I can’t wait to see what the multiplayer is like.

I realized something about my job last night. Though I was hired as a computer technician, all I’ve really been doing is calling and emailing other technical (and sometimes not so technical) groups. This is new to me, because I’m used to fixing things, not calling a company and letting them do it, which is probably why I’m all up in their shit when they come to fix or install something. I’m expanding my education, and I’m also helping with problems.

After all, common sense is so rare nowadays, it’s a fucking super-power.

My Sue picked up a “scorch” beanie baby for me at the thrift store. It’s so sweet. I’m going to take it to work so it can watch over my junk and give me more of a tie to home. I strongly believe that if you are comfortable at work, you’ll work better. Right now I’m stuck in a cubical with no hope of escape. I would love to go back into the server room, provided I could close the door.

It would be so sweet. I’d keep the lights above my desk off and have a lot-wattage lamp on my desk. I’d be able to play some calming music and put some plants on the upper shelf to hang down. It would be so comfortable, that I KNOW I would be able to work more efficiently.

I should do something like that here at home. I need a  plant on my desk somewhere, provided the cats don’t mess with it.

Oh well. I’ve got laundry to do, and the covenant aren’t going to kill themselves now are they?

OH! Almost forgot, I may be resurrecting the Green Geek show, only it’s not going to be a podcast, more of a vidcast.
