This weekend had its fair share of ups and downs, but I’m only going to focus on the ups.
One “up” in particular is my purchase of a Wacom Graphire4 4×5 Tablet.
This sweet little baby won’t make me any better as an “artist”, but it will make what little talent I have a lot easier to work with. I tried it out in Max, and it was sweet, so easy to move around the screen and select different objects. It’s made working on CG, as well as web stuff, a lot faster. Nice thing was, it was at Best Buy for $109.99 – $40 instant rebate. Now it’s nowhere near the $2,999.00 Cintiq that’s basically an LCD touchscreen, but this will do. If by some stretch of the imagination I become a graphics artist, then I could see getting one, especially if the work I do on it pays for it 🙂
Other than that, not much in the way of “good” happened this weekend. I’m up to #7 on the blacklist of Need For Speed: Most Wanted, but that’s not that great.
I have once again attempted the seemly unattainable task of getting a microphone clip to stay in place in my Focus for more than a day. My ham radio mic has been laying in the cupholder all this time because I can’t get anything to stick to my dash. I’ve tried alcohol, tac cloth, everything recommended to clean the dash and prep the surface, only the have the clip fall off after an hour or so once I put the mic in it. This time I think I got it, I hope. My nerves are really starting to pinch over this subject. (Stupid double-sided tape)
